Obituary of Robert Leonard Savage
With deep sorrow we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) Savage. He was welcomed to his heavenly home by his parents, Alfred and Mary Savage as well as his first wife of 50 years, Mary Jane.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Justina, his daughter Dawn (Brent) Wyness, their children Ashton, Amanda (Tyan) and Brendan and great-granddaughters London and Calla as well as his daughter Jacqueline (James) Cox and their children Robert, Christian (Rayne-Joy) and Sierra (Jessie).
Robert was born in St Catherines, Ontario and grew up working on the family vineyards of the Niagara wines region. He married his high school sweetheart, Mary Jane. They left with two young daughters to start over in Grande Prairie, Alberta. He lost his wife, MJ to Parkinsons in 2017. He was blessed with a second chance at happiness when he married Justina Bartsch Ferris in 2018 and they enjoyed many adventures in the short time they had together.
Bob (aka Har Billy! or Doc Savage) had a quirky, unique sense of humor and many gifts and talents. He was hardworking and creative with great vision and organizational skills. Over the years he had a variety of careers including police officer, truck driver and Alberta Energy inspector. He was very involved in ministry, spending time as president of the Full Gospel Businessmen’s and Businessmen’s Fellowship. He also hosted many study groups. He had a strong passion for Messianic teachings, the Torah and the Jewish Feasts.
He had anticipated many more travels but was called home one day before the Feast of Trumpets to attend it in the presence of his Saviour.
Services were held Wedensday, September 8, 2021 in Three Hills, Alberta.
