Obituary of Michael Stephen Page
On the eve of Family Day, our loving Dad passed away surrounded by his family at the age of 93.
Michael Stephen Page was born in Didsbury to Eli (Captain) and Dorothy Page. He was raised on the family farm with brothers, Richard, Brian, Derek, Geoffrey and little sister Mary.
A beautiful young lady, Vera Nielsen caught his eye, and in 1947 he married the love of his life. Together they raised six children on their ‘home’ farm in the Allingham District.
Farming all his life, Mike worked hard to provide for his family, milking cows, raising hogs and grain farming. His favorite equipment was “GREEN” his favorite vehicles “FORD.”
He contributed many hours to the Allingham District, and was a life member of Pioneer Acres. With his straw hat and pipe as his trademark, he traveled to many tractor pulls and was a member of vintage clubs all over Alberta. Restoring antique tractors was his expertise, and his vast knowledge was sought by many. He showcased his John Deere D tractor in the Hallmark Movie “The Magic of Ordinary Days” his debut as a Movie Star!
He was a handsome, true gentleman, kind, gentle, humble, genuine; his wit and sense of humor were priceless! He enjoyed a warm Pilsner, or a shot of Scotch!
His greatest passion was his love for his family. As he gave many a horsey ride, smiled and winked, every generation knew the deep love and compassion he held for each and every one of them. He was a very wise man, his word was respected.
He has left us a Legacy of Love, so now, as we turn the final “PAGE,” our hearts are filled with love and cherished memories of this great man we were so proud of and honored to have known as Dad, Grandpa, Great Papa, and Great-Great Grandpa.
XOXO Rest in Peace
