Florence Regehr

Obituary of Florence Janet Regehr

Please share a memory of Florence to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Florence Janet Wiebe Regehr was born on February 24, 1938, in Steinbach, Manitoba, to William & Anna Sobering Wiebe. She peacefully passed away on January 11, 2020, at Westview Care Community, Linden, AB, with family by her side. Florence grew up with her parents, three sisters and two brothers on the family farm in the Blumenort area and attended the Blumenhof School. She came to Linden in 1958 to help her sisters, Marion and Susan, with their young families. It was a difficult time for her when Marion passed away. Florence answered the call from God and was baptized, becoming a member of the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, here in Linden, on November 1, 1959. During this time, she also met me, Herb Regehr. We were married on February 19, 1960, in Steinbach, MB, enjoying nearly 60 years together. We were blessed with a family of two sons & twin daughters and spent all our married life in the Linden area. Mom was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who taught by example. She was a quiet, gentle person who generously served others. She had a delightful sense of humour and a great ability to listen. Mom always took an interest in what each of us was doing. This was evident when we got converted in our younger years, and later on when we had jobs and got married. Mom loved to have a quiet visit with us children. Her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters, brothers, nephews, nieces & close friends were special to her. Many a one-on-one conversation was enjoyed over a cup of tea. We will miss her dearly and cherish those memories. When we asked Dad what he liked best about Mom, he said “I can’t say it all”. Left to cherish precious memories are her loving husband, Herb; the children, Michael (Correen) Linden, AB; Tony (Bev) Abbotsford, BC; Angela Reimer, Westlock, AB; Carmen (Glen Jantz) Leoville, SK; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, brother Harold (Irene) Wiebe, Neilburg, SK; sisters, Susan (Harvey Toews), Linden AB; Barb (Harvey Thiessen) Pincher Creek, AB; sister-in-law Jean Wiebe, Red Deer, AB; brothers-in-law Bernie (Linda) Regehr, Moundridge, KS; Walter (Lydda) Regehr, Linden, AB; sisters-in-law Josie Regehr, Linden, AB; and Eva Regehr, Abbotsford, BC; many nieces, nephews and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, parents-in-law, one brother, one sister, two infant siblings, seven brothers-in-law, six sisters-in-law and one infant grandson. We would graciously like to thank the many special friends who helped the family by taking mom to her appointments & the staff at Westview Care Community for the loving care provided over the last four years.
