Susan Nickel was born on October 30, 1917 @ Lowe Farm, Man. She married John Harder in 1935 and together they had three sons, Calvin, Irvin & Lloyd].
Susan worked along side John in many business ventures they took on. They moved to Linden in 1959 where they bought Maple Leaf Supply which was a combination coffee shop & grocery store. In time they converted the main floor into a coffee shop only & their living quarters were downstairs. After they sold the business, Susan worked at the local fabric shop & she was on the board of directors when Lynn Haven was constructed. She loved working with the public.
In 1974 they moved to Abbotsford, BC where they enjoyed retirement & living close to family. Their son, Calvin, passed away in 1995 & then John died in 2000.
Several years later we moved Susan back to Three Hills, AB so she could be closer to her children. She lived in the Robertson Manor, then the Golden Hills Lodge. Her last home was at the nursing home in Westview Care Center where she passed away peacefully on Nov. 21, 2017, 22 days after her 100 birthday.
She leaves behind Irvin & Sue Harder of Sidney, BC, Lloyd & Diane of Olds, AB, along with her grandchildren & great grand children.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Abbotsford where she will be laid to rest with her husband, John.
